What to write in a model agency application
A short introduction should make your application easy to understand. Use the agency’s form as the starting point and answer its questions directly. Avoid sending the same long message to every agency.
A useful structure
- Say who you are and your general location.
- Explain why you are applying to this particular agency or division.
- Summarise relevant experience honestly, including being new to modelling.
- Add general availability or travel information only if it is relevant and accurate.
A starting template
Hello [agency team], I’m [name], based in [city/region]. I’m applying to [division] because [specific reason]. I’m [new to modelling / brief relevant experience]. I’ve included the photos and details requested on your application page. Thank you for considering my submission.
Replace every bracketed phrase before using it. A specific, accurate sentence is more useful than claiming to fit every type of work. This is a writing structure, not a promise of better selection odds.
What to leave out
Do not include passport numbers, bank details, a home address or private medical history in an introductory message. Avoid invented bookings, follower counts or agency relationships. If a field is optional, leave it blank when you have nothing relevant to add.
Before pressing send
Check the agency name, spelling of your email and whether attachments match its instructions. Read any stated response policy. Save the submission date and reference so you can avoid sending duplicates.
Following up
Use the agency’s stated guidance. If it says that only selected applicants receive a reply, respect that. When a follow-up is appropriate, keep it brief and refer to your original date. Do not repeatedly message staff across personal accounts.
